STAR WARS EPISODES 2 & 3 TO GET BACK-TO-BACK 3D RELEASES

Recently, George Lucas released Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 3D. Despite the fact that the film is overwhelmingly despised by Star Wars fans, it went on to gross $103 million.

Lucasfilm originally intended to release 3D version of all the Star Wars films at the same time in consecutive years. Well, it would appear they don’t want to wait that long to start raking in the money, so now comes word that Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith will be released September 20, 2013 and October 11, 2013, respectively.

I try to maintain my objectivity since I’m speaking on behalf of a larger source, but it’s hard for me to hide my contempt for the Star Wars prequels and George Lucas. Lucas soured his fan base with the ineptitude of the prequels, and every decision he made seemed to be in the best interest of making money. By re-releasing these films in 3D, he reaffirms these suspicions. But I digress.

Will you see Star Wars 2 & 3 in 3D? Let us know here.

CHEWBACCA MOVIE IN THE WORKS

No, it’s not another prequel by George Lucas (pause for collective sigh of relief). This project, now being called Chewie, is being directed by Kyle Newman. Star Wars fans may recognize Newman as the director of the 2009 film Fanboys, where a group of friends plan to break into Skywalker Ranch and show their dying friend The Phantom Menace before it’s too late.

According to cinemablend, Chewie will be the story of Peter Mayhew, the 7’3” actor who plays the beloved fur-ball, and how he balanced working on the first film and maintaining his job as a hospital worker. Newman is working from a script that landed on The Black List, which is a list of the Best Unproduced Scripts in Hollywood.

No word yet on a possible release date (the movie does not even exist on IMDb yet), so all that can be really said at this point is “they’re talking about it”.
